.Niceproject and presentation. Thanks for sharing.Ivisualize a “self actuating” trick toggle switch having theactuator made up to look like a bat handle toggle switch. Incorporate some sort of proximity sensor into the works. Whensomeone's hand approaches the switch, it would “magically”toggle, turning something on or off before the fingers can touch theswitch.Bythe way, you can straighten reclaimed motor wire by laying out thelength with one end clamped to a solid object like a vice forexample, with the free end chucked into a drill. Put a littletension on the wire while running the drill at low speed for a fewrevolutions. The wire will be straight and ready to wind on yourcoil form.
I didn't make "it" exactly but your project inspired to put to repurpose an old Conner 60 Megabyte HDD as a base for a small desk clock. I used the more colorful circuit board rather than the disk side. Thanks for the inspiration. You got my vote in the Trash to Treasures contest.
Hey ?chef, nice job and good use of an old HDD. Two thumbs up! When assembled, is it possible to put a thin acrylic cover on it? Might be necessary to keep the little curious ones from getting time on their little fingers.

Great project. You get my vote. I hope it doesn't have to be carried about. it must be pretty heavy with the MDF and 2 X 4 frame. I would have liked something like this when the grandsons were in school sports.
Congratulations on a great project. All done without the aid of high-tech tools too! Pass along a big high-five to your dad for being part of your dreams.Might I suggest some sort of rod on each side that would prevent fore & aft movement of the skis. Somewhat like a Panhard rod or mechanism on an automobile. Might relieve a lot of stress on the suspension attach points - which currently take up much of those forces.Great videos too. Thanks for good tutorial ible. I'm not converting. Just starting out fresh with DIY machine.What are the significance of the various jumper pins on the CNC Shield? I have yet to find anything on the jumpers. Is it necessary to have limit switches connected? If so should they be NO or NC switches?O'scope indicates I'm getting step pulses to the 3 axes motor pins. Motor does not turn. A4988 gets hot.Any help?Thank you.
Useful, simple, low cost project. As usual, there are good suggestions in the comments and as always, a few nay-sayers. I look at 'ibles and food for thought. Take the maker's idea and run with it in a direction to suit your needs, finances, materials at hand, and technical expertise. Thanks for posting.

Re: "what difference does it make?"In the USA, it's the convention and required the National Electrical Code. It's doubtful these low cost relay modules meet any electrical standards.The below info is from a medical source. Skin resistance does play a roll. 1 mA;Barely perceptible 16 mA; Maximum current an average man can grasp and “let go” 20 mA Paralysis of respiratory muscles 100 mA; Ventricular fibrillation threshold 2 A; Cardiac standstill and internal organ damage 15/20 A; Common fuse breaker opens circuit
Very ambitious project. Lots of possibilities to build upon. Just thinking... could you utilize or rig the tilt and pan motors to steer and control the direction of the camera platform? One motor to steer, the other to control a potentiometer which thru a microprocessor to send PWM forward and reverse voltage to the platform's drive motor? Ultrasonic collision avoidance?Some folks much more clever than I could really make quite a rover. I don't have the knowledge to do any of this but it is thought provoking. Thanks for posting and also thanks to you benefactor for furnishing some of the equipment to make it possible.

Nice job of repurposing bits & pieces. Would it not have been a bit less cluttered, and simpler, using only on servo for the ailerons rather than two?Airfoils; One can hardly go wrong with the old tried and true "Clark Y" as a starting point for scratch built RC projects.Thanks for posting the instructable.
