Introduction: Clothespin Earbud Holder

About: I am a Christian teenager who likes sharing my crafts with others!

In this Instructable I will show you how to make a pocket sized earbud holder out of clothespins.

Step 1: Materials

You will need:

  • Two Clothespins
  • Glue (I used hot glue, some of the commenters recommended wood glue)

Optional:

  • Markers or Paper (For Decorating)

Step 2: Gluing

Glue the clothespins together facing opposite ways. The first picture is how they should look after they are glued together.

Step 3: Decorating

Now this is optional, but you can use markers or paper to decorate the tops of the clothespins. In this picture I used paper that I glued to the top of the clothespins.

Step 4: Wrapping It Up

Lastly it's time to wrap the earbuds up. Clip the earphone end of the earbuds in one of the holes of the clothespins. Next wrap the wire around the open sides diagonally. After you run out of wire to wrap, clip the end in the other clothespin hole.

should work for many wired things - excellent idea! thx

Yep, I'm gonna need to make a couple of these! Very nice :)

As ever, the simple solutions are the best ones. Good one!

Wrapping cables is horrible for the internal strands. That's how you get kinks and twisties. Unless you do the ol' "over-under" like for mic cables and such...

Some of the best ideas are so simple. I'll make this! I have 3 earbuds in my laptop bag that area mess when I take them out, thanks.

That is absolutely brilliant. I believe I'll need to make at least 6 for the family (of 3).

That's a very clever idea!

I like this design, but I'd use wood glue rather than hot glue for a stronger fix, it takes longer but should be better overall

How strong do you need for the bond to be for this project? Most anything down to chewing gum would be strong enough for this.

that's a fair comment, I just don't like hot glue much, I think unless you need that instant stick then hot glue has little benefit. But you are right, this doesn't require a hugely strong joint.

I actually tried that and it turned into a sticky mess! But I think I put too much on. Thanks for the idea anyway! :)

Beautiful solution for the mess that storing earbuds can represent, specially when you try to untangle them. Thanks.

Great idea.. it even works with just one pin.. doesn't look as neat as your holder, but is supereasy..
