I used brackets from same supplier as the extrusion. All 90 deg external and some internal L shaped. They're not automatic but are easy to use.

The laser was actually pointless, you'd be better off drawing the schematic in black pen and self tapping the larger components directly into the play.. You would need a 3d printer though, or be very accurate with a handful of polymorph (low temp plastic)
