Tell us about yourself!
Im from Denmark, and i took it for a ride in a fjord. There was a little windy but not much about 10 m/s and about 1 degree celsius. Im taking it out for a hunting trip sunday morning, and will bring an action camera, so Ill hopefully have some good video for u then. :)
Hi again, finally my kayak is done, and i have had it for a test run. No game on it yet, but that will come in time. Thanks for the great instruction :)
I think you are right about the ribs.... i need the stability though, as im using it for hunting.... need to make sure i dont end up in the water after shooting a goose :D :D :D
will do :)
I ended up using normal Styrofoam. I considered the rubber paint above but ended up with a glass fiber soultion instead. I did find a way to use the "cheap" plolyester resin though. You just have to painte the foam with wood glue and put a layer of fabric on top, like you do on yours. Then add 2-3 layers of plastic paint, then you can put regular fiberglass on top.Im not all done yet with the project, i still have to paint and add a couple of layers of lacque, then its done.you can see the result so far on this website. www.mikaellarsen.dkThx alot for the inspiration :) :) :)
xps foam is extremly expensive where i live, so im trying to use styrofoam. I would like to avoid fiberglass if possible, have you got any experience regarding painting the hull with a roof aquablocker. when dried up it turns into thick rubber. Its used for reparing roofs.
