I have to finish the pellet drying machine as we got about 80-90% humidity in the air at the moment. With the pellets as wet as they are at the moment I got about +- 0.06mm at about 1meter/minute. (3mm natural ABS). Results should be better once I am with humidity at specification level. I am measuring and recording 10shots per second, no manual random caliper measuring!

Btw... Extrusion temperature for ABS should be something between 170 to 195 degree, 270 would be a temperature for injection moulding. (Correct me if I am wrong... :-)

Hi Ian! Thanks to your great tutorial I managed to built one! Had an old Bosch Akkuschrauber lying around and replaced the speedcontrol with a proper pwm one. As the torque was not enough I decided to buy a used wiper motor and found the motor itself broken. So I ended up with using only its gearbox. But hey, now I have torque without limits and around 60rpm at the drill. Already extruded around 1000m of ABS and fighting hard to get the diameter constant. My problem seems to be that I am extruding too fast and the filament still has too much unmelted parts inside... Thanks again for sharing this and for still taking care even after two years...
