Neat project. you made a lot of interesting choices in the design, and it looks pretty classy. There seems to be a problem with the schematic. The two opto diodes on the right side of the motor drive bridge appear to be backwards. Reverse those two, and three wire operation should give you left, right, brake, and off with no short circuit conditions. I like that.
I would like to know if the PI can be used as a general purpose computer while running OCTOPRINT? I don't need a dedicated printer driver, and would like to use the PI for other things in the between times. Every video and discussion I have seen about OCTOPRINT do not address this concept. I would also like to add a keyboard, mouse, and monitor as the primary source of input and control for the PI. If I were to connect to it remotely, I would probably want to use VNC which comes with the standard PI linux install.Thanks, Pixel
Great job. Excellent presentation. As long you don't buckle the laminate there should be no air bubbles. The wood base is very porous and should readily absorb the bubbles.
I may have missed it, but the Raspberry PI 3B has a built-in WIFI. Can the built-in WiFi be used instead of an external WiFi adapter?
